Influences of South Korea in bboying scene.

I'm kinda bored, so gonna write something that i like to write ?
yeap, bboying.
For every bboy and bgirl, we recognize South Korea as a country with dope bboys.
For someone who are not so into bboying scene, they probably will think that Western country will have all the best Bboy.
Well, the truth is countries like America, Germany, France... etc are good.
But S.Korea .... legend.
Bboying scene started in South Korea at early and mid 90's, which mean at most, they have bboying experience for 10+ years.
Why would i say S.Korea is a legend ?
Take this event, Battle of they year as example.
The list of champion for these years :

Battle of The Year champions
2007 - Extreme Crew (Korea)
2006 - Vagabonds (France)
2005 - Last 4 One (Korea)
2004 - Gambler (Korea)
2003 - Pockemon (France)
2002 - Expression (Korea)
2001 - Wanted Posse (France)
2000 - Flying Steps (Germany)

In 8 years, Korea appear as Champion for 4 times.
Even when they are not champion, they appear as runner-up all these years.
And guess what ? Just a short time after bboying scene started in Korea, they are now the big winner.
Besides this event, there are lots of other event, and Korea did good jobs too.
To be exact, you can surf over the link below and see how good Korean are.

From what i know, Korean's crew inspire a lot of people out there to take the 1st step trying to bboying.
When i first started off, i don't even know Korea are good.
But when the dedication started to fade off. I witnessed the greatness of Korean bboy.
I can still remember the first time when i watch the showcase of Extreme Crew in Battle of the Year Korea 2005.
I was amazed. From then on, i never stop bboying till now.
Well, too bad. I had leg injury and still can't bboying to the fullest.

From a little kid who know nothing about bboying, now i am at least better than before.
Eventhough i am worse in technique.
But at least, from years and years of learning, now i know what is behind this word 'bboying'.
In my country, majority of people started to bboying with only 1 thought, to look cool and yeah ..... attraction ....
Well, most of these guy are good in term of technique.
But most of them don't understand the essence of bboying.
They recognize bboying as a way to show others how good they are, but not as a way to express the inner self.
And in order to look really cool, most of these guy start from powermove.
Yeah, to be honest, powermove are really cool and nice.
But what about the foundation of bboying ? Toprock ? Downrock ? Rhythm ?
Most of them just don't give a damn about it since the crowd just don't understand these.
Well, im talking about majority. There are still lots of bboy out there in my country.
Bboy with true heart and soul.
For myself ? I don't think i am one. Cause technically .... I am so behind .... >.<

Because Korean are so good, bboys just love them.
As a result, biting happens a lot in bboy who just start learning bboying.
Malaysian bboy were always related with the biting issues back few years too.
But recently, from the event 'Battle of the year Malaysia 2007', i can say that Malaysian bboy are stepping out from Korean bboy's shadow.
Another word, more creativity and foundation can be seen.
Relating to this, this year, Giller Battle Crew represented Malaysia to the Battle of the year Asia 2007.
They lost, but we are proud.

Nowadays, Korean bboy are somehow related with issues like " they are acrobatic instead of bboy".
This happen because Korean Bboy were always doing powermove. They are all famous with doing near perfection powermove like Airtracks, 2000, and so on.
In the addition of some korean bboy inventing new powermove, such as Bboy Physicx as the first one to done a spinning flag and so on, people just think that Korean do only powermove.
But the truth is they aren't.
Everyone have to agree that back in those old days, they do only powermove.
But now, Korean bboy are great in both power and style.
This can be seen from all the bboying footage.
To make this even clear, Bboy Hong 10 from Korea won in Red Bull BC One 2006, an event which feature solo battles between great bboy.

I am so sleepy and tired now.
So i will call this an end.
Perhaps, next time :)
All of these are just my opinion, I may be wrong, no offence and else.
